I would love to but I don't have PS. I would assume it has a simiilar set of tools that would make the effect possible but honestly I don't know.

Look around PS and see if it has a Lens Flare tool, and if so just play with it. Run the filter over and over again, inputing a different x value each time (or run it in a different place each time), and it should give you something of a similar effect.

Sorry

Yeah...I think I need to redo it. It's pretty easy once you get the hang of what's happening - it just takes a while.

In plain english, the animated Lens Flare effect is achieved by running the 'Lens Flare' Filter over and over again, and changing the X value (left to right) each time. With every repeat you copy the result, then press undo, and then paste it onto a new layer. Basically, just hit Ctrl+C, Ctrl+Z, Ctrl+V one after the other. When you paste a new layer, it appears as a 'floating layer', so you have to right-click on it in the Layers window and make it a 'New Layer', which will make it visible.

You then select your text-layer again and repeat the process. It's a lot of repetition and usually takes a good 10-20 minutes, but it can yield some neat results. Not sure if my 'plain english' version is helpful

T~T; I failed miserably at it.. But I did find another way to do it using just gradients. :}

I don't if it's just me but the animation at the top is distracting...perhaps put it on the bottom?

Hehe it was sort of intended that way - I needed to make the tutorial look different so it stood out. I would put it at the bottom, but there's already one there

Thanks for making this, it's a really interesting concept! 8) I'm debating about whether I have the nerve to tackle this sometimes, it seems like a lot of work but worth it. ^ ^
