Description

After cutting Marvin i felt like trying my hand at a couple of other very simple robots. EVE must have one of the most minimalist designs around.
She looked so alone on the paper that i decided to add in the plant.

You're right... Eve's design is decidedly sleek and simple. It's the type of design that people think about when they think "futuristic robot". That's for sure. As simplistic and implausible as Wall-E's story is, I think it's got the type of social agenda that we hope we could instill in our kids. And that's saying something.

In the meantime... this has to be one of the simplest projects you've done. It's still clean and well-executed... but I agree with you. There's just something lacking. I also think the background could have matched the cutting a little better, too. I don't know if it's just me and my seasonal allergies, but it looks like Eve had just had a huge sneeze!

Gesundheit, Eve!

Wall-e is definiatly my favorate Pixar movie. Cute, sci fi and brilliant message
yeah I think your right about the background, blue sneeze haha. I was trying to emulate the blue been EVE uses to pick up the plant .... But it's more sneeze like. Perhaps I should have gone for a wash instead ....

The message is a bit simplistic, but it's as hard-hitting as a Pixar movie can get without being too preach-y, I guess...

In the meantime... thanks for seeing what I'm seeing in the background. I mean, I know what you are going for, but I just can't get the image of a big sneeze out of my head. I hope you don't mind!

A wash might have been a good idea. Just something with less of a spatter-pattern, maybe?

I just love to the splattery paint so much I get carried away. I've got these two extreme opposite loves, tiny painstaking paper cut outs that take hours, and then just chucking paint around everywhere and seeing where it lands haha. This time it lands to look like a sneeze XP oops

That's OK, my friend. I mean... just look at me, I'm a science geek who cuts little patterns out of paper! Can't be more diametrically opposed to each other, I say. I guess it's just a matter of making sure the two sides come together in a nice way, that's all. It's kinda unfortunate that this one turned out looking like a big blue sneeze, but the other ones turned out amazingly cool. So... we'll just chalk this one up to a miss and go on?

Onward and forward to bigger and better things!
