Description
Novgoroth has been referred to frequently but never really focused on. About all I'd established about the world is that they had enough defensive firepower to fight back against the Second British Empire without additional backup, leaving a relatively blank slate for Russia's contribution to the first generation worlds. This is the first infographic that's really talked about spirituality on a given planet, but that's not to say that Novgoroth is unusually religious or that other planets in the Crumpleverse are absent of their own. Spirituality in the Crumpleverse, particularly by the 28th century, is generally a personal and often bespoke affair. It doesn't occupy the same place in society that it does in the early 21st century, and doesn't usually respond to the kind of atomised categorisation that exists in our era. Spiritual communion and organised faiths do still exist, hence the listed communities on the infographic, but their divisions are not necessarily acrimonious or even necessarily oppositional. Spirituality, as with the rest of human society, continues to change across the centuries in the Crumpleverse, and with that has often come rapprochement between believers, sects, and faiths.
This is also the first time that cybernetic humans have really been mentioned. This is because the Crumpleverse is not really a setting where such things are treated with the angst that genres like cyberpunk tend to associate with such things. As the graph indicates Novgoroth is a world in which neural cybernetic implants have become normalised, and where full prosthetic bodies are in use without being ubiquitous. The commonality of cybernetics outside specific medical applications varies greatly between worlds in the Crumpleverse, and Novgoroth is one in which some cybernetics have become relatively casual.
