Finally. One of the backlogged commission pieces I've had since the beginning of the year. Don't even ask me why it took so long, I'm just glad its finished.
Every aspect of this image was specifically asked by the commissioning party. The dark, gloomy shadows are my idea to give the image a noir feel to it. Inspired by the works of Frank Miller and the Sin City movie.

Excellent work as always Jeremy. Great on the lights. The picture actually depresses me, probably cause she doesn't look happy. How do you draw women so perfectly?! I'm having the hardest drawing time of life trying to get the women to sit down, so I'm learning from you - as I do everything about women ;D

Nice work! I quite like how your colouring adapts to the moodier feel of the subject without just doing the standard thing of making it just black and white, so I think your use colour and composition give you the noirish feel you wanted but without sacrificing your own distinct touches. Excellent work! Very well done!

The tattoos were a specific element the commissioning party wanted to have in.

Beautiful man, very hot chick, and I love the nightlight through the window to give it a noir style touch. Beautiful. All is blessed.

I'm glad you think its a window, I made it look like its really rectangular in shape to give that effect.

It feels like there should be some swanky music being played and a fantastic story behind this image

Amazing.
And yes... the scene is very sin-city-ish...

Awesome; it does have a touch of Noir to it; let's see... the alcohol bottle, the pistol, the money, the lingerie (or lack thereof), death... were all taboos in 1920's Hollywood.

Yes. The owner never really specified the feel of the image, but when the elements were placed into the inking stage, it felt 'noir'. I made it really shadowy through adding more black and dark shades.

You know, one spends so much time looking at comic art with fancy costumes and well-detailed outfits that it's easy to forget how beautiful a simple nude can be, especially when well-composed and colored like this.

A simple nude, yes, but to me its harder to color a nude body than it is to color a clothed one. In a character that is dressed, you can color the whole thing in sections, but in a nude, you have to color the entire body in one go.

Sorry my friend, I didn't mean to imply that the artwork was simplistic. By simple I meant the figure itself isn't heavily detailed and the subject projects beauty in its conceptual simplicity.

Yeah, I know what you meant.
What I was saying was although nudes look more simple, the coloring takes much more time.

Oh, ok. You're definitely right about that. That's the main reason I didn't color many of those old girls I used to draw...it was just too tough.
