DailyDeviants is a project that features deviants every day of the week. Here are the top features from the month of January!

We hope that everyone's year so far has been grand.  We would like to let you know that there are openings in our Miscellaneous Team , as well as our Digital Team.  If you are interested, please apply within!

Traditional Selection

AlisonHill

Each artist sees the world in their own way, but I want to see it the way AlisonHill does. Her paintings are crisp and detailed, but somehow otherworldly. Realism that inspires fantasy interpretation, perhaps.

AshleighPopplewell 's Feature

Tania-S

Tania-S 's gallery contains works with intriguing poses, pretty faces, and large expressive eyes. I love the gallery for another reason - her designs and fashion ideas. I would love to wear some of the dresses and outfits you'll find in this gallery! The collection of wonderful art continues to grow. Make sure to watch this one... I know some day we will see her designs come to life in the clothes we wear.

When I saw daviddv 's gallery for the first time, it left me speechless. It still does.

surrealgreen

Mature Content

The blend of anime and fantasy shows up strongly in surrealgreen 's gallery. This deviant has a lovely personal style and I hope to see her works developing.

Muarw 's Feature

Alex-Cooper

Alex-Cooper is a genius. His images create an impact, his style is unique, his details are wonderful. He makes lighting and shading perfect on them, as well as the bold outlining and solid, flat and dark colours. I’ve been looking at his gallery over and over again, checking out every detail, every gesture and face. I found inspiration for myself in his works.
I very much wish he starts submitting new things soon, something tells me he will!

Cribby's Feature

Photography Selection

renefunk

This photographer has touched a few different styles and each one he has done,
is beautifully done. renefunk is someone totally worth checking out.

Literature Selection

Butcher-Paper on the Bed | Ocean with No Name | Ovule

When more than one person in a team wants to feature someone, you know something about their work must be special and appeals to different tastes. HerrheRR has a remarkable gallery filled with a wide collection of poetry. I started the month with his ‘tra-la-la’ in his piece Noel Games in the Shalanka Playground , a piece which also received a well deserved DD. If you love poetry that is slightly different, check out HerrheRR

under-water

Circa 1945Dear Erlene,

Bugaboo Pete, fan supreme, addressing you from Navin Field,
in the center of this inferno called battle
that so changes man that they lose the finer instincts.

Yep its the old maestro,
Boak Carter of the friendless,
devoted believer in that fine concept of fair play:
we are in the tepid, stifling climes of the black continent,
the wind swept plains of southern Canada, the frozen steeps of Siberia.
Whether you belong to the great city or the country hamlet,
whether your mornings are spent in the chain gang of a large factory,
where the steady beat of mighty engines harps on one cord for time eternal—
produ The Snowstorm in the BedsheetsThe car pound is a lonely place in winter time.
Dark at 5P.M. Open until midnight.
Aluminum fence capped with barbed wire.
The thick tar drive way
a grimace up a landfill.
It is all very quiet.

We sit and take our fill
of the place, think of the way
we linger here until midnight,
lonely in the lot at winter time,

the snot freezing in our nostrils,
the burn of gasoline
coming to our side and covering us,
draped across our shoulders,
cutting the rush of wind off the interstate.
The car emerges, blackened snow
a lingering stain
on the side mirrors and hubcaps.

I imagine my pale fingers
cracking under hubcaps,
my white socks Forever Point Strangely UpwardSomething to spice up my walks,
lifelong wanderings in the courts of Milan & France,
a science fiction story.
The lake in my bedroom
fixed a half-smile in the world’s imagination,
strange codes hidden
in the deepest puddle of coolness,
a canyon gorged out of a mountain.
It casts an inviting shadow
(the distinct broom-riding shadow)
over the town’s martini bars.

A resident madman’s fingers
forever point strangely upwards.
The fingers were pointing longingly back home.
He says connection to a place
gives benefits similar to love.
But a system of a proportion that would explain,
as Newton’s rule of gravity d

under-water writes poetry and prose that is endearing because of detail and description. There were so many wonderful deviations in her gallery that I had a difficult time choosing only three to feature. Now, looking back at the three I chose, my opinion hasn't changed. They're as beautiful as when I first read them. under-water writes in layers, using emotion, imagery, and a variety of topics to make a wonderful collection of poetry.

NobodysSon

Never Get A Wizard PeevedA wizard, draped in white robes and sporting a long grey beard, was walking down a deserted road in the heart of a dark and tangled forest. He paused for a moment to admire the colorful wild flowers growing by the wayside when there was a sudden flash and boom on the track before him. A cloud of noxious yellow smoke billowed and roiled where before there had been nothing. Coughing and retching noises emanated from within as the fumes were slowly dissipated on the breeze. At last the figure of another wizard, this one dressed in black robes and a tall pointy hat, was revealed, wildly flailing his arms to clear the air. When the new comer reali A Strange Letter Found
A much-folded and faded letter was found among the personal papers of Professor Howard Rice after his death in 1936. The contents, more than a little puzzling and troubling, are presented here unedited for your review.

June, 17th, 1908.

My Dear Friend Howard,

I am writing to you, from my room at the Kempler Arms, a run-down inn located in the God-forsaken port of Rockfish Harbor, North Carolina. I have just drank the contents of a bottle of brandy in the vain attempt to calm my nerves enough that I may commit the events of the last few days to paper before I collapse into much needed slumber.

I came here, as you may recall, to study the l A Sheep In Dragon's Clothing
Bernice yawned and smacked her lips sleepily as the early morning sun slanted in through the open window and warmed her backside. Sighing happily, she snuggled deeper into her soft bedding and began once again to doze off.

Mutton Day.

Why had that term popped into her head so suddenly?

She shrugged mentally and resumed drifting blissfully off towards the misty lands of sleep once again.

Today is Mutton Day.

There the thought was again! What was so important about today that was trying to make itself known?

A concept struggled up out of the subconscious haze and slid into the small part of her mind that hadn't dropped back into dreams ye
Never Get A Wizard Peeved | A Strange Letter Found | A Sheep In Dragon's Clothing

NobodysSon writes in numerous genres, and each piece of his is a classic in itself. From works like "Never Get a Wizard Peeved" that will have you choking with laughter, to "A Strange Letter Found" which will make you sleep with the lights on at night, NobodysSon manages to grasp and hypnotise his reader completely. Simply written, with sparkling new ideas, his writing is something I enjoy going back to again and again.

Miscellaneous Selection

miZter-maZe

It's not often that I can come across a deviant who is so varied across all of the galleries that are featured in our Miscellaneous section, yet miZter-maZe has many of them!  I love Maze's style when it comes to hip hop themes, and to the majority of his work.  Whether it is web design, fliers, T-Shirt Graphic designs, or logos, this deviant does it all.

foxstep

:thumb54553172: :thumb65820786: :thumb70702940:

Straight from the magazine racks and bookstores. Well, maybe you haven't seen foxstep at your local newsstand just yet, but in looking at his editorial designs, you might swear you had. Some are super-crisp, some are nostalgic and warm, and yet others are vibrant and bold. Variety, class, and skill, all right here - step right up.
