DailyDeviants is a project that features deviants every day of the week. Here are the top features from the months of May and June!
We are very sorry for the delay in the article but hope that you can get past that and enjoy the art!
MAY
Traditional Selection
benwhitney
May was a wonderful month for the Traditional Section of DailyDeviants . So wonderful, in fact, that it was extremely difficult for me to chose this months feature for the newsletter. In the end, however, I decided to go with benwhitney . This artists's gallery may be small but the works are consistantly amazing. Check them out for yourself. You won't be disappointed.
RazzleDazzleDesign 's Feature
dtascott
dtascott 's gallery is filled with paintings and drawings that made my jaw drop on the floor. It is still there. Be in awe!

Kaizy
Great character and creature conceptual artist, Kaizy resides in the far reaches of the devArt universe. Glad to finally see his works, they contain an almost surrealistic element along with some japanese animation inspired pieces.

DominiqueFung
:thumb85963348: :thumb85524787: :thumb81837753:
I like to imagine that DominiqueFung sits around her room or out in a park somewhere doodling things on blank postcards with her vivid imagination, giving herself ideas for her beautiful illustrations.

BrianEdwardMiller
:thumb84324656::thumb84323695::thumb81475429:
BrianEdwardMiller Puts so much personality into every one of his subjects. Character's motives and nature seem to be written all over their faces--and in the lines that compose their form. BrianEdwardMiller is a fantasic illustrator. His work is so professionally moving, it would fit brilliantly into a popular graphic novel or comic book!

Con Long
It was like a miracle. Huffing, hissing, black-coal eyes. A Dragon.
The summer was hot and languid. In the air, swollen bluebottles circled clumsily, colliding with windows. Vines snaked up telegraph wires, peppers hanging from them like jewels. Everywhere, boundaries were bursting; tapioca fences straining, bamboo ploughing up the soft earth like gunfire.
Bao-Long watched with fear and no little wonder as the steamtrain drew up to the platform, childhood memories flooding back to him with a rush. In his village there had always been a dragon. The men of the village came together each year, all quarrels forgotten, and danced beneath the bam
Iago - Chapter 1
1
It rained that night like never before. Across the land water fell as though the oceans of heaven had been drained, and even from the highest mountains all that could be seen were the sheets of dark water sliding across the sky. Lightning licked the horizon and splintered the clouds into millions of those tiny gems, boili
With the Sun on my Face | Con Long | Iago, Chapter 1
Paul-Cooper was my first feature on literature staff, and even now I'm glad that I was able to feature him before someone else did! His join date means nothing, he has a talent for writing that far exceeds what one would call a new member to dA, and as such, he is my choice for May's feature.
GaioumonBatou 's Feature
Away-From-Me
Perfect on paper | Hopeless Romanticism et Moi: 2 | indifference and images
When I wandered in Away-From-Me ’s gallery I found both sincere and penetrating poetry, strong and refreshing prose and a loud tone of insanity that drew my attention to almost every piece of art, demanding to be read and enjoyed. There are no compromises in her art only straight-forwardness, powerful images and reverberating colors.

Miscellaneous Selection
alex190381
Maybe he doesn't have the most unique username ever, but that might be because alex190381 saves his creativity for his great gallery. While he does a lot of different things (and well!), I love in particular his ceramics, with their interesting glazes and crazy shapes.
r51 's Feature
DEVlANT
DEVlANT is a fascinating emoticonist. He is passionate about what he does, works hard at his animations, and never ceases to impress me with his ideas. He was suggested for an interview on dAinterviews , and has what it takes to become the next LeoLeonardo , zacthetoad , or even an Emoticon Gallery Director! As a contributive member of this community, he puts in so much, and should receive back as much as he deserves.

MutedIllusion
:thumb87069157:
DistancesThe scent of vanilla
fills the calm, still air
and enters my lungs
(a purification
for all that has
been there before)
This wind chills
the back of my neck
and I cover it
with my hair
( that you said
smelt of honey)
In this white room
I wish to find solitude
and bring my beating heart
to a standstill
(like it did when
I thought of you)
Goosebumps form
on my arms, bare skin
whose softness
you couldn't get over
(I can still feel your fingertips
on the edge of my elbows)
And so, among this
poetic distance I sit
in fierce solitude
and wonder if
you're with her.
(or at least
thinking of me.)
This sputteringYour words are emotionless,
They are empty, much like when you smile
or when your eyes are upon me.
There is a silence that protrudes through the air
like a knife cutting into my spleen,
ripping into shreds what was my bladder,
my kidneys, and eventually, my heart.
These stars, they cannot shine
because my tears blur
what I have always loved
but I now despise because of my weakness.
Perhaps these words that leak
through these fingers are sp...sp...sputtering,
but I suppose that could very well
just be me shaking from the sh...sh..shock.
Words that I told you were never quite enough
for this heart so filled with hope,
but I s
Oceanic Soul | Distances | This Sputtering
MutedIllusion captured my attention when I first read her short poem Oceanic Soul, I was fascinated by the charm and mischievous youth in it. When reading her works I felt right in there – smelling, touching and tasting the air, even though some of her works are a bit rough the magic is certainly there.

CosmicFolklore
Please, please, give CosmicFolklore some more attention from this post than even my last one! I rarely see jewelry made in such interesting and unique shapes and colors; the years-long apprenticeship at his father's table has served this deviant remarkably well. I really can't say enough about the organic forms that are on display here.
