I like this. Horses are my favorite animal so mythological horses hold a special place in my heart.

In my own stories, my unicorns can either be any color, natural or unnatural. I try to keep it balanced between the two to add a sense of fantastical realism to my setting. Same goes for my alicorns and pegasi. The kirins, however, are more likely to be unnatural colors since they have scales.

I've always like doing non-traditional coated unicorns. Nothing against white unicorns but only doing white unicorns gets boring after awhile.

The only unicorn that halfway fits the traditional view is Queen Allianna. Her mane and tail are violet to denote her royal status. Her father was bronze and her mother was silver. Her closest confidante is the likely-cliched black unicorn with garnet eyes, Tempest.
