Loved hunting the Fiends with this beauty - especially when I have Boone as companion helping me with finding targets. Best for urban combat in Fiend territory against those drugged, crazed, murderous psycho raiders.
Haven't played for a while. Missed the sound of its thunder and the slow-mode cut-scenes of .308 cracking Fiends' heads open like bloody watermelons. Just like NCR's 1st Recon motto: "It's the last thing they NEVER see."

I prefer a fully-upgraded Laser Rifle (complete with a scope!) for my Energy Weapons-focused character. Laser sniper rifle--doesn't get cooler than that. And welding that thing on Hoover Dam, fighting alongside the Enclave Remnants, wearing T-45d Power Armor...beautiful.

Oh, I usually wear the Enclave armor when I'm going into a by fight late-game. But I had just completed the BoS's story arc, so I decided to try out their armor. (I equipped Boone with the Enclave armor...and a Gauss Rifle.

i love the sniper rifle. did you know that it's real name is the DKS-501. one thing i don't get about it though is that it uses .308 caliber ammunition, which has been considered outdated for military use since world war 1. a more likely ammunition used for the weapon would be .338 lapua magnum.

.308 Winchester, also known as 7,62x51mm NATO, today is standard rifle ammo for NATO and some other countries, utilizing NATO-produced weapon.

Just add Carbon Fiber parts to make light weight ,a sound suppresser , a thousand rounds of ammo ,a spare one for parts and you got your self a the ultimate weapon of doom.
