Beastboy sat in the background. Every time he got the courage to tell Raven how he felt, she came back with another guy. Each one breaking her heart. He would sit there and let her cry in his shoulder. She didn't even notice, none the less care, that he was in love with her.
That's what drove Beatsboy to his depression. He would come out of his room less and less. All of his funny jokes dissapeared. He couldn't even look at Raven without feeling resentment or self-bitterness. Everything he did was on his own.
Raven, of course, noticed it from the start, "Hey Garfield, what gives? I haven't heard a corny joke in days."
"Guess I just haven't been in the joke telling mood."
"Do you want to talk?" Raven looked at him with her big, caring eyes. She wasn't completely made of stone. Placing her hand on his, she looked him in the eye, "You can tell me anything."
Beastboy felt a tear well up in his eye. He viciously wiped it away, "I'm ok, I promise."
Raven nodded. She knew that he wasn't ok but Gar was not the guy to press on personal stuff. He was a lot like her.
"Raven," Beastboy looked at he with guilty eyes, "Would you mind not calling me Garfield."
Raven felt like the wind was knocked out of her. A bunch of feelings swept over her. Anger, fright, worry, but mostly grief. Her and Garfield were best friends. They told each other everything. For some reason, Gar was all boarded up. Swallowing hard, Raven replied, "Sure, Gar-Beastboy." Raven turned to leave. She put her hood up so Gar wouldn't see her tears.
Once Raven left, Beastboy felt immediately bad, "Why am I such an ASS?!"

The next morning was unusually quiet. Raven was still trying to figure out why Gar was so distant. He used to be so friendly. Now, since her and Kyd Wyykyd broke it off, he has been avoiding her.
The realization of the fact Gar might like her hit the pale girl straight in the face, "I'm so freaking stupid."

A small knock woke Beastboy. He sat up groggily, not having any sleep from the previous night, "Yeah?" He called in a sleepy voice.
A faint 'can I come in?' Came from behind the door. It sounded like Raven. Beastboy nodded and then realized that she couldn't see him, "Yeah," he called back, more awake.
Raven slowly padded in, "Hey Garfield"
Beastboy looked at her with sad eyes, "Please call me Beastboy."
Raven looked him straight in the eye, "Why?"
"Because I asked nicely."
"We'll I'm denying it nicely, no."
"Rae," Beastboy looked at her with pleading eyes, "Please?"
Raven walked up to Gar. She was so close that she could feel his breath on her nose. His lips were there. All she had to do was lean in........
Beastboy was surprised to find Raven kissing him. He sat there stunned as she pulled away, "I can't believe I didn't see it until now."
"Yeah," Beastboy relied nervously, still a little stunned at what had happened, "It was pretty obvious."
"Why didn't you say something?"
Beastboy sighed, "Everytime I tried, you'd come home with another boyfriend and eventually-"
"Eventually, you just gave up on me."
"Kinda," Beastboy gulped.
Raven sat on his bed, staring at the floor, "I'm sorry I put you through all that emotional shit."
"It's ok, I'll be ok," Beastboy looked at her and smiled, "I'll move on."
Raven looked at him with quizzical eyes, "Who said anything about moving on?"
Beastboy smiled and pulled her in for another blissful kiss.
