Description
A blonde prince wandered aimlessly through his own castle. Many servants and subjects passed him, each giving him a suggestion of purpose. He politely denied them all, telling each servant that he was looking for something. Slightly confused, all of the passerby’s moved on, leaving the lonely prince to himself.

“Master Garfield?” The princes right hand man, Stone, gave him a curious look. Stone was a Cyborg. He used to work in the blacksmiths area before his accident. Since then, half of his body was made up of metal. Now he had incredible strength and he can read just about anyone like a book, “What are you doing wandering about the estate?”

“Oh, nothing, Stone. Just looking for my favorite book,“ The prince lied, turning around so he could continue walking.

“Sir, you don’t read.”

Sighing, Garfield turned around, “Stone, I’m lonely. I know it’s my own fault for turning down every mistress my brother finds, but none of them are her.”

“Garfield, the girl in your dream isn’t real,” Stone pitied his master, “There is no sorceress draped in a blue cloak anywhere. She is non-existing.”

The prince looked back into his dream. The beautiful woman was draped in blue. Her violet hair blew softly in the wind. She had eyes that matched her hair perfectly. Her skin was a pasty grey and in the middle of her forehead was a ruby, “Then why does she feel so, real?”

“I do not know, sir, but if your brother hears you talking like this again he will be furious,” Stone gave him a look of weariness and warning.

“Here him talking like what?” From around the corner, Prince Dick Greyson, heir to the throne appeared. His black hair fell to his shoulders and blue pigment filled his eyes, just like Garfield’s. He gave the mischievous two a suspicious look.

“Nothing you need to worry about dear brother,” Garfield whipped out his famous smile. He always got annoyed when Dick treated him like this. The Prince was only a year older than himself. So whenever Dick got to over-protective, Garfield just gave him the biggest smile to annoy him back.

Dick just shook his head, “My kitten and I are going on a walk,” Duchess Kitten appeared from behind his older brother. She blew Garfield a kiss and winked. Prince Dick held out his arm and she linked up with it.

“You’re in charge while we’re gone,” Kitten winked and turned to go with Dick.

Garfield hated her. She was always too touchy with him, even though she was engaged to his older brother. He had no Idea why Dick liked that slimy, sleazy witch. She was a pain to all of them.

“Prince Garfield, I’m glad I stumbled upon you,” His archer, Speedy, smiled, “I have news that Queen Blackfire is coming tomorrow.”

Garfield sighed, “Have you informed my brother.”

“Yes. He says that the Queen is finally bringing her younger sister along. You are to escort her around all day.”

The prince moaned. Stone just came behind him and patted his shoulder, “You’ll live, I promise.”

“Ladies and Gentlemen, I present to you, Queen Blackfire and her sister, Lady Starfire.” Dick smiled as he presented the guests to his subjects. His eyes especially shone for Lady Starfire. She had glowing red hair that fell to the small of her back. The purple dress she wore complimented her tan skin immensely. Her most noticeable feature, though, was her eyes. They were the brightest green he had ever seen.

Prince Dick snapped out of his trance when Garfield spoke, “Good morning, Lady Starfire,” He bowed graciously before her, “I will be your escort for the day.”

The golden princess giggled and curtsied, “Why, thank you, Sir Garfield.” Her voice was like silk.

As they walked on through the day, Garfield felt more open and happy. Lady Satrfires English was not the best, since her native tongue was Tameranian. To speak better, she leaned over and kissed him. (Apparently, that is how Tameranians learn new languages.) Although Garfield had blushed furiously, he did not feel a spark. Lady Starfire was not meant to be his.

“I have had fun,” Lady Star smiled at Garfield, “Your kingdom is quite beautiful .”

“Thank you,” Garfield smiled, then turned grim, “Lady Starfire, you are an amazing girl. You can light up the room with a flash of your smile (She blushed at that comment), but I do not think I-“

“Stop,” The Tameranian princess put a hand up to his face, “You do not have to say it, I understand. I do not feel like you are my true love either.”

Garfield gave a sigh of relief. He then remembered how Dick had looked at her, “Princess Starfi-“

“Please, that is my official name. Call me by the name Kori.”

“Ok, Kori. I saw the way my brother looked at you. I think that you would enjoy his company way more than my own, “Garfield saw the blush the Princess tried to hide, “I will escort you to him myself.”

The princess smiled as they turned back toward the castle. Lurking in the trees, the Dragon King sat with a dark request from his master. Bow in hand, he took aim at the Tameranian princess.

“You really enjoy tofu?” Garfield wondered at the Princess walking next to him. She smiled then nodded. He chuckled, “This may not be the beginning of an engagement, but the beginning of a wonderful friendship.” They both smiled and continued on.

The princes ear twitched at the sound of a breaking branch. His eyes widened, “LOOK OUT!” Garfield pushed Kori out of the way. Pain surged through him as a poisoned arrow pierced his fair skin.

“Master Greyson, there’s nothing that we can do. The arrow is too close to his heart. We predict he has about 3 days.” Dicks breath was heavy. He felt a pang of guilt hit his heart. He shouldn’t have let them go off alone. Next to him was the Tameranian Princess. Upon hearing the news, she broke down. Prince Dick wrapped his arms around her.

“It is my fault,” She managed between sobs. Dick just lifted her chin up.

“He knew what he was doing, and even though there’s nothing we can do, he’ll die knowing he was loved and cared for,” A silent tear slipped through Dicks emotional barrier. If only he’d been nicer and easier on his brother, maybe he’d still be ok.

Lady Starfire stood up, “Maybe there is something we can do.”

Dick gave her a curious look.

“I know of a sorceress that lives in the mountains. If we can convince her to help us, she could heal him!”

Dick was already halfway out the door, “Then we’ll go to her. Take Stone and my brother and follow me. There’s no time to waste.” Once Starfire was out of sight, the Prince quietly mumbled to himself. ‘I will save you, my brother. Even if it’s the last thing I do.’

In a small cottage high on the mountain, a small pot whistled. Surrounded in a black aura, the pot glided over to Rachel. She held out her cup and poured. The smell of herbal tea filled her nostrils and she smiled. Putting the pot back, she walked over to her small garden. In the warmth of July, her tomatoes were a bright red and her carrots a nice size.

Picking all of her ripe veggies and fruits, she headed over to her potion ingredients. She selected what was ready and headed back to her small kitchen to restock her empty cupboards with her Fruits, veggies, and spices. After that was done she put away all her ingredients for potions and spells away in that room.

She jumped when her front door burst open. In the doorway stood two men holding another. Behind them, there was a bright, young lady. They looked as surprised to see Rachel as she was to see them. The one with the black hair spoke first, “My brother is dying, please help us.”

Rachel looked down at the sleeping prince before her. He had blonde, shaggy hair that just barely covered his ears. His skin was pale and he wasn’t very tall. The black-haired prince (whose name is Dick) tapped his foot impatiently.

“Can you save him?” He looked at her with pleading eyes.

Rachel replied with a cool monotone voice, “Of course I can. My spell would leave a very distinguished side effect, though.”

“And what is that?” The half cyborg named Stone piped in.

“The arrow he was shot with was tipped with poison. In order for me to cure him, the elixir will need Green Changeling Monkey venom. I have some, but it might alter his DNA.”

“I’m sure Garfield will understand. What is going to be done to his is only to save his life,” Princess Starfire spoke on behalf of the sleeping Prince.

“Alright then, it’s settled. Please, miss….” Dick started.

“Rachel.”

“Yes, please, miss Rachel, continue on with your spell.”

Rachel nodded and shooed everyone out of the room. It was going to be a very long night.

Garfield felt groggy. His mind was awake, but his eyes wouldn’t open. He began to panic. Was he blind?

“No, you’re not blind.”

Garfield screamed. He didn’t hear the voice, he felt it, “Who are you?”

“I’m Rachel Roth. I just saved your life. Right now, you’re asleep but we need you to wake up.”

“Ok, Rachel,” Garfield spoke wearily. He started to concentrate. He willed his eyes to open. Suddenly his vision was filled with blinding light. Once the shock of being awake was gone, he looked around. In the room with him was Dick, Stone, Kori, and a girl he didn’t recognize. Then it hit him: She was the girl from his dream.

“Where am I?”

“You’re high in the mountains,” Kori smiled, “and you are alive!” She ran up and hugged the Prince.

“Yeah, you had us worried sick,” Dick and Stone smiled, “But Rachel here saved you.”

“Thank you, Rachel. I-“ Garfield looked over at the vanity. Instead of his regular reflection, he saw a green man with green hair and eyes.

He just sat there, eyes wide at the stranger in the mirror before him. His voice was barely audible when he spoke, “Wh-what am I?”

Everyone’s eyes turned sad except Rachels. She wore no expression, “The arrow you were shot with,” She gestured to the bandage wrapped around his chest, “was tipped with poision. In order to save you, I had to use the venom of a special animal. In result you’re DNA has been mixed with their DNA. “

Garfield just sat there in shock. He was now a Changeling.
