Once, you said that angels fell from the sky,
So i stayed up every night since looking for one.
Once, you said that poetry is stupid.
So I stopped reading it.
I remember you saying that beauty is pain,
and I tried so hard to hurt that I became numb.
I remember you drew a red marker across your chest,
i wondered if i was the one who hurt you.
You told me that life is a puzzle we'll never understand
and now I have to finish every jigsaw I own.

Now I know that angels don't fall,
they're found.
Poetry is fine once you read the right ones.
You don't need to hurt to be beautiful.
Smiles make everyone perfect.
The markers wash off, and people can move on.
Life is a puzzle, but once you find your place, it's great.
But I only figured those out when you left.
