The new team for Ghostbusters 2016. I'm someone who grew up watching the movies, the cartoons and reading the comic strips and I just want to say that I can't wait to see the new film! Out of all the girls, Holtzmann was probably my fave and the fact she mentioned my home state made me smile. I LOVED the new version.

I know right I just got through watching it and I just thought that it was average far from being the one of the worst movies in history that title whole Hartley belongs to Michael Bay's Transformers film series
(to be honest I didn't think Bill Murray was even that funny in the original to begin with)
And to borrow a line from the Nostalgia Critic
Asking for a Ghostbusters 3 would be asking for another Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

You're welcome, it was a fair tribute you made me smile. I also grew up watching Ghosbusters and as a little girl I wanted to see some females hunting ghosts too, I liked the movie for what it was. They delayed it so much and the problems between Harold Ramis and Bill Murray delayed a fair sequel, now Ramis sadly passed and all they have left to do is to make a reboot.

I actually desperately hope that this Ghostbusters remake is a success. This is not because of my own opinions on the movie (I haven't even seen it) but because I feel like if it does badly at the box office, its failure will be blamed on misogyny and it will discourage other studios from involving women in their movies. While I do have fears that this new movie is a total retread of the original just with women as the main characters instead of men, there are a lot of people who attacked this movie because they felt women aren't allowed to be Ghostbusters. That very idea makes me sick to my stomach.
To be fair, I have actually heard some good things about this new remake. I'm just opposed to the "crucify this product before it's even released" mentality.

I saw the film on Friday and greatly enjoyed it. I went into the film determined to make up my own mind based on the film itself and not on the angry footstomping of certain individuals who had decided to hate a film that they hadn't even seen. I absolutely agree with you, the whole "It's Venkman not Venkwoman" thing is just bloody ridiculous. I know the film has opened at No.2 in the States but I have yet to find out how it's fared here in the UK and around the rest of the world.
Well let me assure that while there are certain parts of the film that echo the 1984 original, this new version I personally found to be something refreshing, modern and new. It feels very much like its own thing. Thanks for you comment
