I think they were both drawn. The nun was obviously interested in them; swans on Jarun swim to the shore if they spot people coming, sometimes even go out to check if people standing or sitting by the lake have any bread. That's because people feed them a lot.

As for the hands, a blessing, or trying to keep them at distance, or converting to Christianity... who knows...

The nun and swans are in inverted colors (she's in black with some white on top, they have exactly the opposite pattern), that makes it even more interesting.

Let every one of us interpret this on their own....
