Ah yes, this piece is done. Every carving is an odyssey ......a learning experience. This redwood is awesome. It was underwater for possibly hundreds of years; the colors are amazing; and, it was extremely hard......a wonderful experience. 21"X8" at it's widest point.Related content

The grain is beautiful, and the subject is a perfect choice for it! The tongue is so delicate! I quite like the 'beard', they are almost like feathers or petals.

I was impressed with the quality of the wood/color tones. Having soaked for years in the water really enhanced the wood.
