This stylesheet condenses comments on deviantART.com. Works best with signatures hidden.This stylesheet is a work in progress and needs additional work. If you find anything you'd like to change, leave a comment!
To install, you must have a CSS browser plugin such as Stylish for Google Chrome or Firefox.

I wouldn't use it, personally, but I'm sure many people will like this.
I'm glad it's an optional "download this" thing and not something mandatory for everyone
But not a bad idea at all, especially for people who use a phone or an Ipod to get on dA ^u^

I don't really like it, everything is kind of squished together, and it's hard to read. I think I 'll be keeping the regular style

I prefer the way it already is, it's easier to read when it's not all clumped together.
Like another person said, this could work for those who are using their phones to get on DA, etc because those have a small screen and it is easier to scroll/ save time with this layout. But not really for a desktop.
I might be just me, but I have bad eyes so these changes don't work so well with me.

when i read comments here, it seems like it has alot of bugs and not finished parts... i am not gonna install it, but from the screen it seems like there is really no way to reply as well. Plus alot of people use signatures, so im wondering how it would look like with signatures... plus in my opinion i think it looks a bit confusing then the comment windows are "clamped" to previous and newest comments. It really would look better if htere was at least a little space between them.
And if the new style of comments will be really smaller like in the screen, then i bet it will be unreadable for many people that have some eye defect or glasses. For example i have a glasses and it is very hard for me to see and read it when it is all so small and near other stuff... just my opinion

When you rollover the comment, the "reply" and "edit" buttons display. It can definitely be used with comment signatures - it actually doesn't look too bad.
Again, it's not meant to be for everyone. This is just the style I prefer and thought I'd share it with others.

Condensed replies would be good, but if you make every single comment like this it will become a hard to read, wall of text. So replies = yes, single comments/op = no

I think its a great idea. Maybe it's a bit TOO condensed, like you could maybe leave a bit of space between each one, but yeah. Also, there isnt a reply button for each comment so I dont see how you would do that.

If you're familiar with CSS, you can edit the code to adjust the margins between the comments. Here's some code that adds 5px between each comment:
.ccomment {margin-bottom: 3px !important;}

I like it in the way that it makes comment replies way easier to keep track of, but I find it a bit hard to read and kind of overwhelming? I think maybe if the comment font size (and not the signature font size, if that is possible?) were changed to be slightly bigger it would really help the people who find it difficult to read, if that is something you are interested in doing. Perhaps a small bit of space between the comments that are not a part of a comment thread as well (I am not sure if I am describing that in a good way, the uh... "parent" comments?)
If not, it seems many people find this helpful anyways, and that's always good : )

Actually, it doesn't, the comments not being stacked properly, they still have the same gap between them (font size rules applied, though).

what would be really useful is two buttons on the comments:
1. a button on comments that have subthreads that shows/hides the subthread
2. a button to show hide the comment. when hidden only the nickname, date and time and a miniature version of the avatar is seen.
there should be buttons on the page itself as well to collapse or open all threads/ comments to save time from doing one by one. also a chance to default any of these options would be good so if one would want to have all comments collapsed wherever he went could do that or not.
another idea that i think would be cool is if in addition to the pages, you could scroll down on to other pages instead of having to go to links.

I have an idea. You know how on long threads with multiple replies that the replies' boxes eventually shrink and you have to read it like:

It gets really annoying when I'm trying to read up on convos I had with a friend in public replies to see what we were talking about the day before and chats don't load for her correctly. It would be nice to have that fixed using the CSS.
