Prismocolor (pencils) on Strathmore (toned tan drawing paper) . . Is how they did it.
Either lightly build-up your colour/s for multiple tones (takes ages but it's your choice)
, , , or press heavy for one colour (careful, it'll hurt ya fingers and wear out ya pencils)
, , , Use a soft brush and lightly & quickly brush over pencil for "super smooth shiny effect"
Β Β Β Β ( just use a girls foundation make-up brush, they're very soft, cheap & last forever )
, , , Burnishing pencils rarely work, , Paper smudge sticks are best for blending "smooth"
, , , and practice, practice, practice !!

Wow.Β I did write a lot, but happy it was of help !!
Type Prismocolor Tutorial into Google, or YouTube,
Better Tutorials go for about 10 - 30 minutes, , , They're great for picking up tips to make your colors bold, bright and Shiny !!!Β ....Β After watching a few, found some I liked, and practiced what they said,,, Like an order of colouring to get the maximum quality out of your pencils, and make new colours with blending.
I got my Prismocolor's in July (Tax Time),, eBay last few years had some unbelievably cheap deals, and got a full set from England at 80% of regular price. - Otherwise they're too expensive in stores here.
