There are a lot of powerful things going on here. The intensity of the model's eyes and the way he's facing and connecting with the camera capture me first. The stark quality of his face and how the hair just seems to spring out of it is also striking. These little details can easily be lost if the focus isn't clear and the photographer's eye sharp!
Your model is amazing, as he stands out from the normal fare. He's intense without being affected, handsome without being "pretty" and the tattoos are interesting decorations, not just trendy ink. The choice of his shirt is amazing, as well.
It's a great photo, overall!
My only criticism is that the lighting seems just a little (really, just a little!) off here. It's almost as though there is so much red that his natural skin tone gets a little washed out and is replaced by pink. I'm not sure how this could be solved but it's a minor thing.
