Description
I took a Randy Green lineart and colored it. For all you out there, I hate to color. It just gets on my nerves for a reason. But, well, you know, you have to try. It took awhile. But not as much as it usually takes me. I think that I am actually getting faster. Well, I hope you all like it, and can give me some actually good critics. Enjoy!!Related content

For someone who hates to color, you're really pretty good at it!
I met Randy Green at a convention a few months ago, helluva nice guy. You might like to know that he doesn't like to color either. In fact, he apparently doesn't know anything about coloring. He seemd impressed when I showed him some of my work because it was in color. He said some people have an eye for color work and some have an eye for only B&W work. I imagine that might be true, but I didn't know crap about coloring until only a few years ago. Everything I know I had to work my ass off to learn, so it's possible to teach push yourself in one direction or another. It's important to keep experimenting.

Your telling me. I hate to color to the point where I might was well jump off a building. I can color but it just takes me too much time. I just stick to b and w and let my friend the spyder color most of my stuff. He seems to have a huge nack for it.
Randy Green is one of my favorite artists. He has that very simple Americanime style that I love. He's like a Joe Mad type of artist. I loved his run on Cable back in 98 or 99. I think he was just filling in for some artists then. Marvel had not decided who was going to take over that book and so Randy got about 3 or 4 issues. Good story telling in his part. I love every single page he put out.
Oh by the way, that Skeletor of yours is one sick piece. It has excellent shading in my opinion.

Thanks for that. Yeah, I really like Green's work. I was looking through a couple of his portfolios at the con, he's got a very stylized yet subtle look. He had a really neat Kim Possible drawing too I wish I could find for download.

More than anything that is the style that I am trying to reach if you can't already tell. Lately, I have been drawing a lot, or well sketching if you will, and I just am not satisfied with anything. Don't get me wrong I have been drawing a lot but its like I always feel that there is more that I can get out of my pencil. I don't know if you can relate?

I know exactly what you're saying. My problem is consistency. I might hit the bullseye with one piece and then churn out ten more after that that just don't work. You just gotta keep the right mindset when you sit down to do these things, I guess. Well, good luck with ya, I'm sure you'll keep getting closer and closer to that golden ideal.

She knows it huh? Hehe. Not bad man, the coloring is not bad at all. Although, one thing bothers me about it. The coloring seems too soft, there should be a tad more contrast between the shadows and where the lightsource hits. However, overall, it looks good.
