Description Day 2

I woke up astonished to find the soldiers gone. I looked at the clock, it was around 7am. I never wake up at this time. I walk to the window and take a glance outside. It was snowing. Although... it wasn't a real snow, more of a soot snow. It was from the constant fires that has engulfed the city since the bombing. I could sneak out now, get to safety, or die here. I grabbed my bag, andΒ Β ran down the stairs. I made a left, past the television, and looked out the front window. It was empty, aside from a few cars, especially my car. I could try to get into the car and evacuate. That was my plan.

I prepared myself, my bag on my back, and my hopes in my head. I had my car keys in my hand. I opened the door slowly, and walked outside. It was frigid cold, the coldest the city has ever been I believe. So cold that there were sharp stalagmite-like icicles hanging from the balcony above my door. I closed and locked the door and continued toward my car. It was a 2004 Nissan 350z, slate black. I quickly got to the door and and unlocked it. I opened the door and got inside quickly, putting my book bag in the passenger seat. I closed the door quickly and hyperventaliated. I was freaked out and a bit hungry. Then I heard something I didn't want to hear.

I looked to my left, towards the window, and saw a man knocking on the door. He was saying for me to get out of the car. He had a gun, I could see it, it was on his waist, in the holster. I started the car and he quickly pulled it out. By the time he had aimed it, I floored it, sweerving out of the way of the car in front of me, and down the street, with him shooting after me.

I drove further down the street and saw many people on the street, injured, ravaging for food, water, and shelter. The war had brought this. I couldn't go back now. I proceded to evacuate the town.

I got onto the interstate system, there were a lot of abandoned and burned cars on the road, as well as the highway being pockmarked with artillery. An absence of soldiers meant they were elsewhere. I was worried about them seeing and trying to kill me. About a mile down the road, my worst fear came true. It was a battleground, bullets flying everywhere, soldiers being shot. Blood flew everywhere, and fell like raindroplets in a calm storm.

I swerved the car around the explosions and other cars. Dust was collecting on my windshield and I turned the wipers on, wiping the dust from my field of vision. After several minutes at nearly 80 mph, I escaped the battleground, entering the allied protected area. I was back in my nation's territory, and it felt conforting to be back.

I was quickly stopped by the military. I was a bit confused and nervous. I rolled down the window and looked at the woman in uniform.

"Hello, I'd like to see your ID." She said looking towards me with serious eyes. I could tell she was surveying the contents of my vehicle. I was worried about my weapons in the backseat. I reached for my wallet in my back pocket and took out my driver's license. She looked at it and looked back at me. She nodded and left me with an all clear. I proceded past her checkpoint into the allied section of the city. The snow had clogged up the roads. I knew this war would be nicknamed the Winter War.

I got off the interstate, and looked for the nearest shelter, I was tired after the events of today and knew more awaited me. I parked the car in an empty parking lot and fell asleep, making sure to lock the doors before I did.

Thank you, it's not as wordy as the last one, being a bit more simple. It was quite hard to write.
