Description This here is a project i did for my advertising design class. The basic concept should be rather clear in the adverisement itself.

Not sure why i submit this. Just looking through old, school projects. This one was done exactly 13 months ago.

Hope you like it,

Volkswagen logo, New Beetle brand, photograph of car © Volkswagen Group International

Idea concept © Me

Background was a 3D render from one of the deviant i found in dA. I was rushing to get this done so unfortunately i forgot to note his account name. Anyone regonizes this image please tell me. I would greatly appreciate it.

So background © To that dude
(There used to be a 3D rendered ladybug in the image but i photoshopped it out of the image. Hopefully that helps in identifying the image, )

Photoshop CS
Under 2 hours from image search to final image.

GREAT CONCEPT!!! It would really look amazing in a tv commercial, I can imagine it, the close ups, the new bug coming out and then driving around the branches and ending in a highway ..

looks good except the blending in surroundings for the vw bug i mean if its in a tree with shadows of branchs on it wudnt the windowsd reflect those branches and also the text doesnt like quite aligned, the vw logo doesnt quite blend

DarkClone In reply to Codex-nz [2005-09-18 03:29:26 +0000 UTC]

Thanks,

The reflection, well, its possible that from the angle of the window, the sky would have been reflected instead of the branches (The branches aren't that densely close together in this shot, ) and due the sunlight, the shadow of the branches, which is lower, would have been cast on the car and the other objects.

The bottom text? Yea, its mean to follow the stem the car and shell is standing on. Its not 100% aligned to the stem but i didnt fuss on it.

And the logo, well, it was meant to outstanding. I mean, who would want their company's logo to be half invisible because it blends with the background. It should stand out from the rest of the image. Not out-stand the main item of course(Which would be the car and the shell in this case), but still be clear and bold.

Thanks for the critique man, appreciate it,

erm mind tellin me what it means??????

DarkClone In reply to diabolicaldevil [2005-09-17 05:26:43 +0000 UTC]

Erm sure.

This is an ad for the New Beetle, a car model by the car manufacturer Volkswagen.

So their Beetle model, which the older version which is now considered a classic, has been revamped for the new century. So my concept is showing the New Beetle coming out of the 'shell' of the old Beetle. Reborn, Revived and ready to kick ass.

Hope you understand what i said,

I think it's very nice. It's a stylish and simple advert, but it looks professional and detailed. Good wordplay on 'the Beetle' which everyone will get straight away. Good job.
