Description The internet is like a collective human consciousness.
That's trippy.
I remember a time way back, before it even existed.
It sucked.
...
I like making these little comics. And coloring with a mouse is fun. Good times.
And don't worry... cartoon-me is still alive and well. Continuity can suck it.

Nah, head-shots aren't as lethal as people think. You should do a strip where somebody asks about the bandage on your head and you explain that apparently you had "spongiform brain disease" and so the bullet just passed on through.

Hahahahahah. Very true. I have a weird attraction to gore. Er, of the fictional variety anyway. So in my cartoon-land, handguns do massive amounts of damage.

I like that idea though. You have a jedi-like talent for creating strips/punchlines. It usually takes me a day or two to think up something worth doing. I salute you, sir.

A million thank-yous for the +fav.

Your welcome. And thanks, I'm flattered.

Truth is I'm not so off-the-cuff most of the time either. I get maybe a nugget or two of inspiration on a given day and they're often incomplete. So I make a mental note about it and then I mull it over for a while - sometimes days, sometimes weeks or months. And I also don't have enough time to do the illustration every day, so I've got a back-log of material I've written notes on over here. And I also like to share notes with people -- I get concept ideas from conversations with friends and my daughter and then I pass on concepts to other folks whenever I can too.

I've also found that I can't predict their success at all! Rarely do the ones I expect to be popular actually become popular.

Ahh. That's actually good to know. I figured you were just a Jedi-like genius who came up with gold on the spot, which made me feel slow for how long it takes me to produce even a mediocre idea. Heh heh.

Heh... yeah, no, I work at it... I will tell you this too though, it does get easier if you work at it regularly. When I first started back to my art in 2006 after a really long hiatus, it was really tough to come up with new ideas for strips and I did a bunch of stuff that was pretty bad at the time because I was just trying to come up with anything I could to put on paper. I think that as you work at it you start to become accustomed to "thinking sideways" at the world and you notice ideas for things more often. Also, feel free to note me if you want some help with a brainstorming session -- I'm plenty open to collabing.

That's some great advice. I spend far too much time thinking and not doing. I've got a few ideas for strips squirreled away, but I definitely need to become more productive. Even one strip a week seems daunting to me at this point, which is just ridiculously lazy since I have plenty of free time.

And thanks for the offer! Might actually take you up on that sometime. Also it's refreshing to meet a crazy-awesome person on here who isn't above talking to mere mortals. Heh heh.

Hey how've things been, Scott? Just going through my messages -- never got around to replying to this one. Thought I'd see how you're doin'. My machine's in the shop getting fixed until the 25th. Let me know if you'd like to collab on something, I could help with the script.

Howdy. Nice of you to ask. Things are less than wonderful at the moment, but could be a whole lot worse...so I guess I'm 50/50.

I haven't been drawing at all lately, still waiting for the urge to come back. And spending way too much time playing pc games. I'm sure it will return eventually though. Always does. Thanks for the offer anyway.

My id is a lazy procrastinator who wants nothing more than killing demons in Doom3, and my ego and superego are on vacation. So I blame id.
...
Friggin' id.

Weelll... y'know, one of the things I've discovered from my reading is that social pressure is one of the most effective methods of getting yourself to get off yer but and do things... or quit them (i.e. smoking)... plus getting things done is really good for helping to get you in a better mood when you're down. Let me know if you'd like me to help create social pressure for ya!

Otherwise, good luck with a speedy recovery!
