The composition is not balanced well. You don`t have black, but let me call the color "black". So, because the waves are too black, the balance isn`t right. If you make the leaves in the right air corner more, there will be more black and it will balance the composition. I hope you get my idea.
Also I don`t think the symbol in center is necessary, you could made the four elements like they`re flowing together in center (just an idea).

I think it's to simple.

It would have been a better idea if you would change small things in every element. You could have used the kanji for all elements and a big kanji of life in the middle.

Also, use what you see. Not just what thousands of other pictures have in a drawing of elements.

If you have a special kind of flower in mind for each element you could have used that in this piece.

I did these once! I think you've got all the elements adequately portrayed, but the only thing I'm concerned with is that the Earth seems a little reclusive, as if it's backing away from the other elements. I would just keep balance in mind, but other than that, it's pretty cool!

As for the 'air' section of each picture, I like it the way it is now.

I'm not worried about the extra marks because you said you're aware of that.
