Description

Wheew, here we go, do let me know if that is a typo or anything for the matter.

First time trying for an OCT, let’s see how it goes, haha.

“Let me tell you the story of my falling…”“

Name: Ridley

Age: 55 years old

Height: 6 feet

Weight: 187.3 lbs

Race: Pale one (Biomechanics cyborg, formerly a human)

Occupation: Police detective.

Soul color: Aquamarine

Personality: A serious and dedicated police unit, meticulous and collected, Ridley tries to keep order even in this hellish realm. A born leader, Ridley does not hesitate to guide others and protects those that cannot stand for themselves. Having seen enough action during his years of police service, Ridley gathered a fair amount of experience in close combat and dealing with dangerous situations.

That being, said, Ridley is as flawed as any other human (even more so in this form). He is stubborn, and often refuses to accept help or address any problem of his own. He lives in constantly negation about the state of his mind, and refuses to accept his sanity is slipping away from his hands, also seems to be hiding regrets that torment him greatly. He can be really blunt and hurtful when talking, and rarely sugarcoat things. His biggest flaw along with his weak sanity, is his temper. Having anger issues all his life, Ridley struggles not to lose control. Once he is pushed to the limit, he will snap, his vision will blur, and he will stop acting rationally. Blinded by rage, Ridley is likely to do things he will later regret dearly.

Background: A member of the police department of Metronexus, a decadent futuristic city, Ridley lived most of his life trying to enforce the law in his troubled state, until a vehicular accident left him crippled from the neck down. Desperate to recover from his situation, Ridley accepted to be used in a series of experiments among other people to develop synthetic body that could host a human mind. The final result appeared to be a success… At first. Ridley became a model P-105, commonly known as the pale ones. His agility, strength and endurance were enhanced, as well as his resistance to pain, but it all came with a high downside, the biggest flaw in the pale´s design. The new body couldn’t prevent the brain from deteriorating, the opposite in fact, it sped the process. Ridley, like any of his kind, was doomed to eventually fall into madness. To add to the injury, his already weakened mind has to struggle with vivid and disturbing vision, always accompanied with strange symbols, a side effect after a dire encounter with the cultist that took his life. These perks and side effects seem to have followed him into the afterlife, where he will not only have to face the horrors that stalk this realm, but the ones inside his mind. Will he be able to reach the overcome the challenges of this world in order to return to life to stop the cultist from unleashing an unspeakable horror into his world. Or will he succumb to madness and fade away like many others had done before?

Anatomic details:

Ridley’s body has three kinds of sections, the grey ones are made of a sturdy material, and they protect important organs. They can some gaps that work as joints so the body can move properly.

The white parts are made of synthetic flesh, they provide less protection but allow the synthetic blood to run through the body as well as better mobility.

There are also small sections of power containers, these glow blue. They provide backup energy in case of an emergency, as well as a measure to control the body from overcharging. If too much energy was running inside the system, it can find its way out through these power containers.

Ridley’s body is filled with synthetic organs, bones and blood. They pretty much imitate the human. Which means that Ridley can breathe, as well as eat. His synthetic blood glows in blue.

Weapon

The eye:

The same blade that took Ridley’s life manifests as his only weapon in the afterlife. A strange and malevolent dagger with the ability to hurt mind, soul and body. Using it comes with a price, it seems to slowly drain its holder’s sanity, as well as give them disturbing visions full of strange symbols.

When put in front of Ridley eye socket, the eye gives him vision of other's souls, it also reveals secrets and paths. Seeing through the eye worsen the side effects.

Strengths:

Enhanced agility, endurance and strength:His android body does give Ridley a boost to his natural abilities, allowing him to run, jump, dodge, and fight better, as well as taking more damage-

Resistance to pain: Even when his synthetic body is harmed, Ridley can handle pain better than a regular human being, he can still feel any wound made in his body, but he is more unlikely to back up and pass out due to the pain.

Experience in the field: Ridley has been a cop since he was 22, he knows how to fight in close combat, find the way out of a sticky situation, he is also good at picking small details.

Strange revelations: An ability Ridley cannot control, and wishes he didn’t have is the fact that the strange visions that haunt him sometimes spread to others. To a lesser degree, and not by any means permanent, they can still unnerve his opponent and distract him.

Weakness

Short range: Ridley is armed only with a knife and his bare hands. He has no way of fighting anything he cannot get close to. Keeping your distance and attacking from afar is guaranteed to give you the upper hand.

One eyed bane: Having only one eye gives Ridley all the downsides of it, he has troubles with depth perception and a blind spot.

Troubled mind: Like it has been said before, Ridley’s sanity is his biggest weakness, he is extremely susceptible to psychological warfare, and with enough pressure can be broken. Once his sanity shatters he is less of a dangerous opponent.

Weak grip of reality: Ridley cannot control when the strange visions that haunt him happens, they could happen at the worst time, immediate breaking his concentration, and even turning him into a sitting duck for a few minutes.

Blind rage: Same as his sanity, if pushed to the edge, Ridley will abandon any strategy he has and just charge into his opponent, thought more dangerous in close combat and small spaces, Ridley is easier to trick in this state.

The eye’s side effects: Holding the eye for too long, or seeing through to it causes Ridley’s visions and hallucinations to worsen.

Not an indestructible invention : Ridley’s body is not without weak points, the white fleshy parts provide less protection than the grey parts. He has synthetic internal organs that work similar to the human body, if these are damaged, Ridley might die sooner or later. Even the grey parts has small gaps between them for mobility, with enough precision, they can be pierced as well.

Extras:

-Married twice, had a daughter.

-Seems to avoid talking about his family for some reason.

-Tends to consider younger people as unexperienced. He is also likely to address anyone younger than him as “kid”.

-Ridley could be described as a “strict father” by those he has trained or worked with. He always looked after his partners and the rookies he trained in a fatherly nature, but at the same time didn’t accept mediocrity nor poor performance from them and would demand only the best of them.
