Description This is an old one I did a few years ago. The skull is modeled after a neanderthal skull I saw in a magazine.

Interesting concept, considering how so many creation myths describe the world being made from a higher power's corpse.

I like doing stipple work because once I have laid out the initial lines, I find it relaxing to sort of turn off my mind, throw on some music and start dropping the dots. I wish I had paid more attention to the shadows on this one though, they are not consistent on the moon and the skull. It's also a little sloppy in some spots.

Thanks for the encouragement folks!

good to see traditional art with strong conceptual backing... Studying in anthropology lately has jumpstarted strange ideas..

Our cities are prime examples of the nature of our speicies to rely on cultural evolution over biological evolution.. the ideas passed on that started in those early skulls... leading to our city states and so forth... and the primal tendecies of the moon..

Stipple takes patience..its valuable in a pice like this.

Very cool. I'd like to see this done without the dot shading, in high contrast, just lines and darkness. Even so, definitely more than cool enough for a fav.
