OK..I probably shouldn't tell you this. Anyone who has been following me knows that I have been trying to make my artwork a little more marketable for my little online DarkRubyMoon shop at www.cafepress.com/darkrubymoon . Afterall, an artist needs to eat and if I am going to keep doing art I had best sell some. So lately, I've been looking at all sorts of t-shirt designs and work by other t-shirt artist for inspiration for my own t-shirt design. Recently I came across some work by Ed Hardy. Now, apparently I am about the only one who never heard of this guy, but he is a rather well known artist who started as a tattoo artist and later got his designs picked up by the fashion industry. Who better than to draw inspiration from? So, this design was loosely inspired by his work and that of other tattoo artist. So, I had just finished this design and go online to post it. What do I read? In a Yahoo news article right on the front page it was comparing wearing Ed Hardy fashions with wearing sandals together with socks as a fashion don't. Hopefully my design is different and cool enough that no one will make the same comparison.You will find this design at the following links...
