Image taken by my great aunt, semi-accurate time: 1919-1928. It's about 100 years old, huge negative, not in great shape,
made worse by led lamp projecting light through white soap bottle for diffused light
but can imagine what seeing such a view meant to folks who lived through WW1,
who only got out of boggy foggy town every so often, no internet, no TV or colour photographs ...

And then, when you nearly finish the climb,
you turn around
and this magnificent, once in a lifetime view pops up ...
