Description
A mind of amazing brilliance,Trapped inside a body of pain,
I swear I intended to visit you,
Now I'll never see you again.
A heart of the purest gold,
Always shining in your bright blue eyes,
I promise I often thought of you,
But my actions I do despise.
And now as I realise the truth,
I regret not following through,
With the things I wanted to say,
And the things I wanted to do.
I think of the things you said to me,
The places you said I'll go,
How much you really believed in me,
And how you spoilt me so.
I hope you know I'll remember you,
I hope you know I really cared,
You planted a seed of hope in my heart,
When I was upset, alone and scared.
I'm so sorry I never returned,
Your endless, generous favours,
But I promise each memory of you,
In my heart I will always savour.
I dedicate this poem to you Paul,
It comes directly from my heart,
And the moments and days I spent with you,
From my soul they will never part.

He was a very clever man, he had had a stroke and was trapped in his body though. His story was so sad, he was amazing though. I'm okay.

there is a lovely expressiveness to this piece in spite of its [deceptive] simplicity.
very emotional, yet very controlled, expressing both affection and bereavement without wallowing in either emotion.
the rhythm is smooth and works very well with the piece.
i'm sure he would have been proud.
