what knd of pc do you render on (specs) and how long does each picture take on average to render?

I have windows 8.1 64-bit
Intel Core i7 3.6 GHz (4 processors)
16 GB of Ram
No special video card or anything.
Average render times are hard to figure. Something like this one here renders in about 5 minutes. Other ones with a whole scene with backgrounds and Indirect Illumination with reflections and such could take an hour or more. Very complicated scenes, which are rare for me, have taken several hours.Β But for the simple stuff I do I think under 30 minutes is a good average.

thanks for the answer! i always like to kinda have an idea about how much time goes into processes. i wonder if you had a 2 or 4GB dedicated actively cooled videocard would make a huge difference to this setup. (may be decrease rendering time by 65%

On my old system I did have a video card that was liquid cooled and all. But it's hard to compare since the new system blew the old one away even without a video card. Not sure if it would make a difference or not. I don't ever get close to using my ram now so it hasn't been an issue but I would guess if I ever did use it all up, a card dedicated to ram for rendering and such might be useful.
