It really does look medieval, with the 2D and flat colors and everything. Really nice.

The linework is excelent, and captures the feel of the 13th century illuminations. However, IMHO, the colors aren't bold (dare I say garish?) enough to catch the feel you get from reading the Mispronounski Bible or the Manessa Codex.
I love the "banded" maille representation, and the face of the dappled grey. (that is SUCH a medieval way of drawing horses!) On the other hand, I think the blades of the axe are too sharply detailed for this kind of illumination, and the knight in azure with the argent leopard rampant looks like he's wearing an armet! 0_0 Which would be... erm... about a hundred years early. =/
Still, quite excelent, and I don't see nearly enough of this type of art here. ed

I thought that about the helmet with the visor, but there it was in the image in the Queen Mary Psalter, upon which I based this composition on (a work of c. 1300). Goes to show the helmet was around, but not common, much earlier than is usually thought.

Really?! Do you happen to have a link to the Psalter on the web? And that illumination in particular? 0_0
