Description
A painted version (oil on board) of an earlier drawing [link] I'm quite pleased with the eerie atmosphere evoked by the moonlight and the mist around the gravestones, but the scan is not great.---
Pain has stripped away
The flesh from my bones
Burned the life from my soul
Torn the tongue from my throat
And my eyes from their sockets
Yet still and always I Am.
Still I walk and talk and see
I watch and stalk and snatch
I carry away beauty
And I will not be denied.
When the moon was shining
And the mist was rising
And unbearable desolation hung in the air
Then did I find you, my newly-dead bride
Then did I bear you away in my arms.

REALLY AWSOME! It so beautiful! I always have thought that everyone deserves love, even if it ends badly. I'm glad to see the Grim Reaper with a girl . I really like the shadding and backround - you need skill in order to make something like this, good job!

it's absolutely beautiful. she's so pretty, i now have to wonder how she died. And the skull, the opening on his left temple almost makes it appear to be a mask... hmmm..

Absolutely breathtaking. I love the eerie mood it creates, and the skeleton is downright terrifying - well done on creating that effect! I love the way you've done the colouring of everything, with the tones and spookiness.

This is brilliant, and she is stunning. I love how you managed to give her chalk-white skin and make it look almost normal! Whenever I try for white skin it looks pallid and disgusting... very nice job on this one :]

Excellent painting. I especially like the misty graveyard in the background. Perhaps the skeletal fingers should be thinner? They look almost as thick as human fingers so there's no room for skin and muscle. I like the frowning skull myself.

Thanks. Wanted his hands to look strong, not possible with delicate little bones.

That makes sense. Then, perhaps the finger bones should narrow towards the middle and widen by the joints? At least that's what I'm used to seeing with skeletons. Still a great picture.

I'm not sure which version I like better (ok, I am - the bnw, but its a biased opinion), but you definately got the color scheme spot on.

this looks really nice!.
The only weird thing is her arm, I guess if she is unconscious it should fall more naturally and look a bit heavier...

imo it would look better if the skull didnt have the frowning sockets, death after all is a part of life

I rather agree, I was a late convert to frowning skulls. (Bone can't bend) I blame anarkyman.

haha, but dont get me wrong, its a nice pic, but with a natural skull it makes it seems more deep well imo good job nonetheless
