Description

I am a fan of the Disciples series of games, specifically 1 and 2 parts. I love the soundtrack of these games, the visual style, the backgrounds, the story, the unit portraits. And somewhere here the name of Patrick Lambert pops up. This is an amazing artist who gave the game a delightful spirit of some kind of "cartoon" fantasy medieval

Like many fans of the series, I started my acquaintance with it with 2 part, which introduced me, in particular, to outstanding 3-D portraits of units. A little later, I got acquainted with Lambert's pencil concept art and was delighted (those who saw it will understand). Incredibly characteristic expressive and skillful drawings.

And finally, a few years ago I decided to taste part 1 of Disciples. Although the game turned out to be quite outdated, there was still something that again led me to admiration. These were unit portraits. Absolutely all of the portraits were apparently hand-drawn and digitized for use in the game, and their stunning style finally led me to the image you see.

Then the idea came to me, which is the following: Disciples 2 obviously has more units than Disciples 1. And I still like the portraits of part 1 more. So why not take the portraits of units from part 2 not yet added to part 1 and draw them yourself? Using, of course, the same magnificent style.

I started sorting through the appropriate units and decided to settle on Master Thug. His colorfulness and character attracted me. Now I see some shortcomings in this work, but still it is very sweet to me. It was a test of the pen, attempt number one, and it went perfectly. Now I continue in the same spirit, the next arts will be coming soon

P.S. I painted with watercolors
