Description So I realized earlier today that I never shared this massive beast.

many of you might recognize Forseth and Haseo from previous posts, but also my short-lived webcomic: Someone to Watch Over Me. Periodically, I revisit that story and tweak it a bit… and then it sends me down the rabbit hole of working on that entire universe. Anyway, in the midst of me drawing out characters one by one, and in color for most of them, I decided to actually draw out the entire family. This drawing took me forever to complete, and many of them got complete make overs. Regardless, I think this is the first time that all of you are actually seeing the entire family.

Forseth and Haseo are the youngest twins in the Atreyus family. The Atreyus’ are known for their full demon lineage, and are recognized for being powerful Mind users (I.e., telekinesis, telepathy, etc), but also having the ability to “mirror” other elemental users… but also the rare ability of Future-Sight. Between the two of them, Forseth is seen as the grumpier, older twin, but in reality, he’s just super protective of his younger twin, who is sickly with an incurable illness. Forseth, due to his lineage, is rather powerful, and was born with the mirroring ability, and is able to mimic and replicate the elemental abilities of his opponents. Haseo was born with Future-Sight, which is the root cause of his illness.

Propitheus is the patriarch of the Atreyus family - he’s the father of Forseth and Haseo, and is begrudgingly married to Krin, another demon with mind abilities (from a neighboring, lesser known, family of demons). Without going into too much detail, Propitheus is an abusive asshole who forced his wife to bear his children until she gave birth to a young set of twins. Propitheus was given a prophecy by a crazed religious fanatic, who told him that one day his wife would bear twins that would be the cause of his downfall from power. Aside from that, Propitheus ruthlessly trained all his children to be warriors for the family name, all while forcing them to never align themselves with any of the armies in the world. His favorite child is Lorzin, who he trained specifically to find and kill Forseth and Haseo should the rest of the family not succeed. Propitheus would eventually be killed by Haseo, who, in a fit of rage, was avenging his mortally wounded brother.

Not much is to be said about Krin, other than she became complacent in the abuse and torment of her children, as she was being silenced herself.

Elgret and Sterling are the eldest twins in the family. Unlike their father and mother, they are both kind-hearted individuals who sought out the protection and safety of their younger siblings. Elgret covers much of his body to cover the scars and bruises from his own abuse, while Sterling does the same. Elgret is the reason why Forseth and Haseo came to the care of Vycer (and it was more than a known fact that the two of them were more than just friends). While Elgret is the strongest in his family, aside from the younger twins, he chooses to not try and over throw his father in order to protect the rest of his family (because he knows he will lose that battle and cannot leave Sterling to fend for herself). Sterling is not weak, however, and was also born with the mirroring ability. She maintains a barrier around the house in order to prevent her father from discovering where Forseth and Haseo are.

Tazmyn and Ashwin are not twins, and are both fairly quiet people. Tazmyn prefers to read a good book in the safety of his apartment, far away from the household, where Ashwin trains his body and mind. He lives near Tazmyn, just to keep contact with someone. Both report to the household when their father calls and both refuse to carry out his will.

Lorzin is the only Atreyus child that is fully devoted to fulfilling Propitheus’ wishes and will go on long journeys just to find her baby siblings. She fully believes that they will all die if Propitheus dies.

The last sibling is Iiro, who seems to follow the same path as Lorzin, but is actually the one that prevents Lorzin from fully succeeding in her murderous attempts. Out of all the siblings, he’s the one that has the most contact with Forseth and Haseo, and is the first of the lot of them to meet Crissa (Forseth’s future wife). He, alongside Sterling, are the ones to put a barrier spell on Crissa to prevent her from being harmed by Propitheus.
