Description
Lightning Ridge, NSW, Australia. Its funny how the worst names sound decent after you've thought about them long enough. The words "thunder" and "bus" have now lost all meaning to me.This photograph was published as the lead photograph for the article "Heartbreak Ridge" by Greg Bearup in the September 19 edition of Good Weekend magazine, included as part of the Sydney Morning Herald.
UPDATE, June 2012: Removed black border. Tweaked contrast. All is well.

Actually this storm was pretty quiet. It was at the perfect distance to photograph without being intrusive/lethal/deafening.
