So my buddy Adam and I were having a nice talk the other day and he showed me this thing about the way that it was thought that Smaug would look in the new Hobbit movies. To be honest I've yet to see the first one, but this is my interpretation of how it might go. This one's for you Adam.Of course I'll probably be wrong, but it was fun anyway.

nice depiction! Β i loved the way they animated his face in the movie but was irked that they did not make him a true dragon. Β Tolkien was very specific that dragons have 4 legs AND wings, the Smaug in the movie has 2 hind legs and wings with hooks...yours is an interesting combo of the 2Β

I don't know if you've seen the movie yet, but they really nailed him with the CGI. There were some differences from the book in his appearance, but that's to be expected. For example they didn't give him a treasure-encrusted belly that he had in the book from decades of lying on top of opulence.

I've not seen it yet, but I have seen the screenshots and stuff. I heard it was pretty well done. Looking forward to it.

no, not Smaug, I will complain to all Smaug "artists" he is lion faced, furry cheeks and fur down his spin, missing a scale on his chest, VERY red, cat eared and has an under bite.

Beautifully done. This might be just my own nit-pickiness, but I really hope that Smaug has four legs and a separate pair of wings. Six limbed dragons just seem "right" to me.
