You can avoid dragging in the white if you do your painting on a transparent layer and lock the alpha, btw.

Thanks. Hoping future versions will have an actual blending tool.
I've read that selecting the areas around the edges and applying a gaussian blur is another alternative method.

Have you experimented with GPS 1.5 ? There are some really good blending presets for the smudge tool in that.
Decent blending is one of the big reasons that I use MyPaint for my digital painting. However, there's no select tools so creating a perfect sphere like this wouldn't work in MyPaint, either.

I'm still new to Mypaint but it's great software.
I've had Gimp Painter on my Windows for a while, but I'm rarely using Windows lately. I'll try your suggestion when I start my next digital work, thanks.
