Description
Bryce5.5 - more or less DoomsdaydeviceMK1 but treated to a parametic render which makes the image almost abstract, without any sense of up or down, kinda like something by M.C.Escher perhaps? I'm sorry I can't remember who I was talking to about Escher, but this is what I meant. And I'm also sorry to report that, even after being delayed for over a year, British Telecom have once again spectaculary failed to deliever a telephone service which can not even attain the dizzying heights of dissappointinly bad, but have had to settle for outright incompetance once again - I can't even send e-mails now the bandwith has become so restricted that the server times out on me before the machines have finished saying hello. To futher irritate me BT are still sending me leaflets telling me how good their services are and how I can improve my broadband. This would be the delayed broadband, the broadband we should now have, have had one year and eight days ago! Grrr.... Annoyed. Oh yes!Related content

In theory (touch wood) they appear to have been solved by the late but eventual arrival of broadband! Hurrah and huzzar for that. Lets see how long it takes to break that!

Well, that's a good thing... I think. Now the next question, do you know how large an email you can accept? I'm looking to get a gmail account which allows huge quantities of data to be mailed but as I understand it that requires the recipient to have a gmail account... ur... any ideas?

I have gmail... Just stick the gmail extension on the end of my name instead of the normal isp one and that's my gmail account. Why would a recipient need to have gmail? I mailed myself things from gmail before... Was using it as a sort of storage place while my computer was being reformatted.

Cool. My memory isn't good enough for this but did I say I was going to send you either a) hitchhikers from our radio b) old harry's game or c) allan davis - all are very funny comedies, I think you'd like... But the files are about 40mb mp3 so until this moment, it has not been an option. You tell me, I can't remember anymore. Grr....

I replied to this earlier, but my connection was lost so I guess it never sent. I said that I'm pretty sure that gmail only allows 10mb at the most in one file send. My friends and I generally send things through MSN Messenger when we want to send something larger. And I can't remember what you were going to send... They all sound great to me!

Yes that's right, hold the front page, we have broadband here in Mablethorpe! Wow, that means my email will work again, and I don't have to wait five minutes for peoples pics to load in and, and and it means that I can go on line at the weekend. Amazing. I'm quite dizzy with anticipation - or was it running up two flights of stairs. Now if I just had a really hot cup of tea - my life would be complete. There is a competition on Bryce5.com where you are reqired to take a photo and turn it into a render, your a photographer and you've see the kind of stuff the render software can handle, got any ideas for me maybe?

hmmm, well i think i tend to work spontaniously rather than planning my work so im more like, ok i see something that would be a good moment to capture so its now become a reaction to just click, you know? ok ideas? well if its a self portrait thingy you could just do an actual picture of yourself, adjusted to how you see yourself. for example, it might not look anything like you physically, may not even look human. i dont really know, im not good with adjustments, i like to capture things how they are....if you give me an idea i could suggest stuff, its the actual idea that i can never conjure without massive thought

Well the challange is to produce a rendered image that looks like a photograph you already have. It doesn't have to be a self portrate, besides, that would be embarrasing. And figures are very difficult. Bryce lends itself to landscapes but that's a bit obvious and it would be nice if the photograph was itself a piece of art work. Still life is a posibility since I have access to moddling software and I can do mechanical things OK, not faces, I've tried that and it's very difficult indeed. Through Poser I have access to generic human and some animal figures, it's a funny piece of software, very slow and inclined to tie your models up in knots and hair is a problem too. I don't know. I usually wait for an idea to come to me, or for someone to suggest something that gives me an idea. It's true Poser has a mapping option to put your face on a 3D model, but not having anything but a web cam I'm somewhat stuck for importing hig-rez data - that would be my main reason for getting a digital camera, not for snaps, but to capture textures for render images. Oh well, flibble flibble pop flobbernob - thinks...
