Hotland – Core End

The Human crosses the bridge to reach Mettaton’s fight, hoping to have been the first to arrive.
However, as they head further, they see a familiar figure in the distance…

Sans had already reached the place and “collected” all the EXP he could, now he had been waiting for The Human to arrive.
No more running, no more hiding…
This was it, the final showdown for the sake of all Monsterkind.

“*heya, kid.
*took ya’ long enough to arrive.
*w o n d e r w h y .

*welp, no point in introductions.
*you know who i am.
*and i certainly know who you are…

*no more runnin’ now.
*our sins have finally caught up…”

And so it starts.
Sans fought his best, by far the toughest opponent yet.

But he couldn’t win the human’s DETERMINATION.
He started to get weaker and weaker as the battle raged on until…

He had an idea.
Destroy The Core and make them quit once and for all.

There was no time to think.
No time to act.
Everything went down in a single moment.

And they were dead…
This time for good, they tried to come out unscathed.
But no matter what they did, how many times they reloaded.
The outcome was the same.

So, they just decided to give up.
This time for good…
Sans had finally done it!
…
However.

Sans wasn’t safe from the explosion either.
He managed to escape teleporting out, back to his home in Snowdin…
But not before half of his head was torn to shreds by the flames.

He wasn’t dead.
But the trauma form the explosion made him pass away in a few seconds.
Falling in a coma that would last a long time…

In the days after The Core blew up survivors from Sans’s slaughter started to come out of their hiding place, thinking both the murderers were dead.
Thinking that maybe…
Just maybe…
Life could go back to how it was.

But something else was about to occur…

A familiar girl also fell in the underground.
Her name is…

Aliza.

-Sans-

After he woke up from his coma he couldn’t remember much.
Only one thought filled his mind with rage.

The Human has to die!

He thinks they are somehow still alive.
And that’s the main reason why even after everything is done he still goes on killing.

As his weapons he would use the “thigh bone” and a special kind of bone that overheats and after a few seconds detonating into a fiery explosion.
He has trouble summoning blasters because of his injury so his attacks would be mainly bone centred.

He has a split personality.
One is a kind of shadow of his former self; he realized his actions are wrong and sometimes thinks living may not be worth it… Not like this.
The other one is a true ruthless murderer; he almost enjoys killing at this point and loves the thrill of chasing down his “prey”.

-Ash Papyrus-

An hallucination of Sans’s.
This is how Sans sees the “ghost” of his brother now.

At first Sans was scared of this change.
He knows he isn’t real but still, something in those dead white eyes made him freak out…

However he’s gotten used to it at this point and speaks with him regularly like he used to do before the accident.
Even if now he doesn’t talk anymore, he just stares and barely ever moves, just fades in and out from time to time.

Some monsters say if you look at Sans’ face for too long you may also start seeing the hallucination at the corner of your vision…
Staring at you.

-Aliza-

She fell down not much after Sans woke up.

She is actually older than she was in Horrortale, about 15 now.

Her design is based on a post Sour Apple Studios made, a drawing about a grown up version of Aliza.

She actually acts a bit different from how she did in Horrortale.
She tries to act more mature and less scared of everything.
She’s clearly still frightened but tries to hide it as much as she can.

She’s also somewhat stronger than how she was in HT and resorts to fighting more often.
Although would still try to resolve things more peacefully most of the times.

-Flowey-

After the 8th human died and Sans woke up he tried to confront him right away.
Thinking that maybe in his weaken state he could have killed him and reset.

However the encounter didn’t go so good for him as now Sans had the advantage of having become rather… unpredictable.
So in the end Sans ripped his face off but before he could finish the job Flowey fled.

Now he’s fully blind and can barely speak.
He was there when Aliza fell and now asked her to be his eye in exchange to helping her get out of this hell safely.

He has increased perception abilities and can detect when sans is nearby to warn the girl.
However he has his limits so Aliza still has to look out.

His design is somewhat inspired by Underfell Flowey as a reference to Horrortale originally being an UF take.
