Nice one man, show's off the epicness of the series. Looks like you could make a great comic out these, though it would take a lot of work to achieve by yourself, maybe you could do a 1 page teaser, to see if you, and other like the idea. I think it would look great.

DCArtStudios In reply to JackEavesArt [2009-04-24 15:42:40 +0000 UTC]

I might do that, I have a final piece that I have been working on. That might fit this right into a story.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

JackEavesArt In reply to DCArtStudios [2009-04-24 15:58:02 +0000 UTC]

I think it would be great, and a good tribute to the terminator series. and would also show that you can use your skills to portray a story of some sort.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

DCArtStudios In reply to JackEavesArt [2009-04-24 16:09:02 +0000 UTC]

I would really like to tell a story. If this works out you may see some more stories coming. Oh my plate is getting full. Plus there is mothers day to worry about. I may take the same style for the wolverine v2, and create an angel piece.

JackEavesArt In reply to DCArtStudios [2009-04-24 16:31:43 +0000 UTC]

That all sounds great, looking forward to both, i think that would be interesting.

I am also working on a layout now for the Good vs. Evil contest. This could be kind of crazy, if I can get it to look right. But that may take a couple months.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

JackEavesArt In reply to DCArtStudios [2009-04-24 17:27:27 +0000 UTC]

Oh yeah i noticed that contest, i would love to do soemthing for it, but i'm really not sure what i could do, i'll probably start contests when i'm more porgressed in the future. Hmm, could you complete it before the contest deadline?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

DCArtStudios In reply to JackEavesArt [2009-04-24 17:30:37 +0000 UTC]

Your right, I think I need to have it done Quick. Because I just read something about the highest number of +fav's may be the deciding factor.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

JackEavesArt In reply to DCArtStudios [2009-04-24 17:37:14 +0000 UTC]

Yes, the deviantart contest rules are that the deviations with the most +favs and views are taken further into judgement so that they can judge a handful of deviations instead of the thousands they must get. I guess youll have to get it in quick so that you have time for poeple to view it.

DCArtStudios In reply to JackEavesArt [2009-04-24 17:39:53 +0000 UTC]

Well even if it doesn't make it. It will be an interesting piece to do. Very complex though.

JackEavesArt In reply to DCArtStudios [2009-04-24 17:41:48 +0000 UTC]

Yes true, it's not about the winning n all that. Sounds interesting.

DCArtStudios In reply to JackEavesArt [2009-04-24 17:59:38 +0000 UTC]

To get it where I really want would probably take a month of continuous work.

Great, would love to see one. - I have finished half the left side of the hair now, starting to look cool - i am very glad that i am taking my time, it is looking much better. I will try to post a WIP but it's getting dark so i might not upload it if the photo is too dark.

DCArtStudios In reply to JackEavesArt [2009-04-24 20:36:24 +0000 UTC]

Understandable. You want it to look as good as it is.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

JackEavesArt In reply to DCArtStudios [2009-04-24 20:37:36 +0000 UTC]

Yes, as it is such a big piece i really want to make it as good as i can, i am hopeing to have it hung somewhere in my house once complete. ( i have a glass frame i can use to display it when finished)

DCArtStudios In reply to JackEavesArt [2009-04-24 20:43:09 +0000 UTC]

So this will be the first large scale master piece, huh?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

JackEavesArt In reply to DCArtStudios [2009-04-24 20:50:22 +0000 UTC]

yes! Depending on how it turns out i might do more in the future, however they do pose the problem of scanning, storage and for portfilio purposes i would only be able to present a photo. but they are fun, and i think you can introduce much more detail, i havn't grasped the concept of adding such detail into very tiny areas on smaller paper yet.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

DCArtStudios In reply to JackEavesArt [2009-04-24 20:56:25 +0000 UTC]

I suppose, when your changing the scale that dramatically. You are in store for some serious detail.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

JackEavesArt In reply to DCArtStudios [2009-04-24 21:02:33 +0000 UTC]

Yes, it's great. Though i am astonished at the people i have seen who can achieve even more detail in smaller details, like A4 size for example. But i guess, it's all practice - if you work all the time in a smaller scale then you will be more used to working on a smaller scale.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

DCArtStudios In reply to JackEavesArt [2009-04-24 21:38:12 +0000 UTC]

For doing these, it's like you have to train your eyes to look beyond the image. Do you have a magnifying glass, that may help. It is what I use to get the detail on the illustrations, it allows your eyes to just look at that part your working on and not the whole image.

JackEavesArt In reply to DCArtStudios [2009-04-24 21:56:27 +0000 UTC]

hm yes true i might try find one somewher. I might also invest in some mechanical pencils also, apparently they stage very sharp all the time, to help with fine detail, though i havn't used them before. I guess that also the people which i have seen on DA who have insane detail in their drawings also spend several hours on one small part, such as just the eye, or eye section.

For example, this guy is one of my big inspirations, his drawings are insanly good, if you look at this WIP of Jim carrey, it is just the eye and some of it's surrounding, taken 6 hours but insane detail. This is type of detail and photo-realism i am aiming to acheive, though im not sure if i could achieve it.

DCArtStudios In reply to JackEavesArt [2009-04-24 22:02:31 +0000 UTC]

You can if you are will to put the time and effort into it. Plus you have never used mechanical pencils before, so you are about to amazed at level of detail you will accomplish. The lead is a bit darker than any of the H pencils. But you know how to press lightly.

JackEavesArt In reply to DCArtStudios [2009-04-24 22:10:08 +0000 UTC]

Hmm yes, well i am very willing... I think i will try get to get some mechanicals then, it's worth a try.

Submitting WIP 4 now.
