I guess this is my take on the "Dragon Egg"-style fractal that has become so popular with the latest version of Apophysis. I did virtually no post-work here, unlike most of my fractal work: 2 layers, not counting the border. Rendering time: 4.5 hours.Apophysis 2.04b/Photoshop CS2

Thanks! I'm not surprised that you brought up the Matrix scene; I did have that in mind while I designed the form of this piece, although you're absolutely right that I was aiming for something entirely different in style.
