Description I'm a beginner at this
old tradition that wiser men than I
call love.  I certainly lack practice,
that I do.  I won't lie.

I know this one guy who's on his third wife.
Hell, it would be a miracle for me
just to catch a girl's eye, forget a life
of endless romance--not with one girl, three!

But I can't help but think about the cost
of marriage built on passion without trust.
With two bonds broken, with two passions lost,
what practice did he have, except of lust?

For saving love until, by love, I'm caught,
perhaps I'm slightly wiser than I thought.
