You're out fishing on a route, looking for new Pokémon. Magikarp are your most common encounter, as per usual. Suddenly, you encounter a Magikarp, but something is a little bit off about it. This Magikarp is ill. There is a tiny bug creature inside it's mouth. You have encountered Swimbiote, the Parasite Pokémon.

Cool idea. What if parasitic Pokémon worked like held items? Instead of an item, you can hold a parasite.

Cool idea, but not sure how a parasite would benefit the Pokémon you attach it to. Exiguill, for instance, is a hinderance to Magikarp rather than a benefit.
