~ Hypnotize by System of a Down

a history of tech video i was watching had a moving clip of the immortalized moment at the Tiananmen Square Massacre. realizing that i had only had major access to the journalist media's still for so many decades, so i snagged a few screencaps for my own usage.

later, listening to music, getting ready to make a piece, the song that introduced me to the Witch House genre happened to play. it, and the various Vaporwave offshoots, have been very influential for me. Witch House speaks to me as an older goth that has interest in seeing how dark music evolves.

as i have also been returning to a serious study of the occult, an idea occured to me for a memetic sigilized ritual used to be part of an endless data chain that will keep us from losing this moment in history and the wisdom of its implications, or this piece of catalyzing footage. further, it is an attempt to place a White Ring of protection around the victims of the event, and to keep their memory clean and honored.

this is what my subconscious and i dreamed up in GIMP.

the background image is a fairly radical edit of a screenshot of one of the YouTube audio videos of White Ring's "lxC999." the patterns and textures added are my own original tile patterns modified greatly.

the audio track makes an excellent companion to the viewing and digestion of this piece.

i do not consider this to be a political piece. i prefer the axis of philosophy as my guiding system. however, i openly state i stand in siblinghood with all of humanity that it may know justice, balance and freedom.

so mote it be.
