Extreme high detail, and a rather 'filthy' look to the dark/evil figure in the center. You've done a brilliant job giving it shape and form, and a very unusual shape and form it is.
Overall, I would judge it as some sort of parasite; insect, mainly because of its filthy, hairy look, and with all those little arms, legs and other tendrils, pipes, spikes and unusual bodily features - reminding me of the disgusting reality of a close-up insect. Definetely a evil one, judging by his face; expression.
Although its obvious, outstanding, I'm just ignoring the background, and whatever signifigance it has, simply because it doesn't display a consistant style (Which I don't like in this case).
As for why I like it, dispite my rather negative way of describing that 'bug'? Not sure, I guess I just like to admire its ugliness in texture, form, every filthy detail of it. Ironically, it IS ugly, but structurally, its pleasing to look at & admire, examine, if you know what I mean (Which I wouldn't imagine you did).
Great job.
