Description
Upright composition this time. Also made it a bit larger for those who wanted a bigger work.Next time I'll get much bigger, but since I'm still learning how to get a halfway-decent starfield, I figured I'd stay small and work my way up.
Photoshop 7.0. Around...an hour and a half, maybe? to create. I also tried to vary the planet surface textures from the single-texture method in the tutorials so that way they looked a little more unique to one another. I'll probably make a few planet textures myself to play around later.
Anyways, I fixed the problem with the lens-flare method by making a few star brushes. No more anomalous rectangles popping up.
I'm sure there are other problems people will notice.

Thank you.
I'll be refining the way I make the bigger stars, so in a while I'll probably ditch the lens flares and try something else for a star brush.
Most likely, this is a case of "you ain't seen nothing yet", but it might be a while before I get to that level. I'm just enjoying the new tools right now.

Yep. With the help of a devwatcher and friend, I'm finding a whole bunch of nebula and planet tutorials, so much reading will be had soon.

For spacescapes? I'll send along any I find really helpful for PS spacescapes.
But first...I gotta read, read, read. And fiddle, fiddle, fiddle.

This was completed in PS only? Wow. This is amazing. The flares/stars are especially striking. The largest ones seem a bit odd to me (of course, it is 630 am, so that may have something to do with it).
I am amazed!

6:30 am is no time to be viewing art if you want it to make sense.
Part of it is the color, part of it is the brush I had to use. I used a Lightening effect in PS for the stars, and overlaying a red tinted star on a purple nebula just turns it pink.

Uber nifty. And I don't say that often. Well, actually, I do. But it's still nifty.
