The Facade of a Smile (4/4)

Found this little man whilst digging in the garden, one of my old toys I had lost from childhood. Despite being forgotten and left alone for years in the dirt his smile still remained fixed, just as I remembered.
Although he is obviously not real I felt there was a human-like quality to him. It reminded me how sometimes when we are hurt or upset instead of showing our true emotions we put on a smile so we don't appear weak to others. It becomes a mask, a facade to hide what's really inside. Being made of plastic represents how fake a smile can be in this case.
