On this representation, the first thing to note is the color contrast between the island in the foreground, a dark red ochre, and the island in the background, chalk-coloured.
On the first island, there are clearly buildings surmounted by a cupola. Between the two islands, the moon shines, reflecting on the sea.
It's dusk, everything is calm, the sea is perfectly calm and this soothes us like the presence of the horizon.like a dagger.
