"...Her hand reaches out and I clutch it like a lifeline. As if it’s me who’s dying instead of Rue.“You blew up the food?” she whispers.
“Every last bit,” I say.
“You have to win,” she says.
“I’m going to. Going to win for both of us now,” I promise...
Lately i'm really obsesed with The Hunger Games trilogy, i'm almost finishing the third book, and I couldnt help to make a fanart of one of the most emotive momments from the book: Rue's death. I really like this character and I want to make her my little tribute. As well, I must say that the great Amandla Stenberg played a great role as Rue on the film ^^
The drawing: It has been difficult, but i have enjoyed a lot and I really like the result ^^

I think i will be doing for a while some fanarts of the hunger games. I think all the people should read those books LOL They are really great.

Firstly, I want to commend you on your choice to do a painting of Rue. Her death was the most unexpected and heart-wrenching scene in the entire movie and I'd never have thought I'd ever see the death of such a young child on a movie screen. You have painted her after she'd died and Katniss had placed the bouquet of flowers on her. This must have been so hard to do, but you've really done justice to Rue and she looks so beautiful and so peaceful - almost as if she were sleeping. The grass on which she lies looks more reflective than one would expect because of the specks of white - I'd have expected that reflective look from a water background - but this seems to work well as a background nonetheless and doesn't subtract from the poignantness of this painting. You've shaded her face and clothes really well and the painting as a whole is just so poignant and beautiful.
Note on ratings: I gave you a 4.5 out of 5 score for originality only because Rue is not a character of your own creation.

You have really outdone yourself this time! The how much you improved lately really surprises me!
I must say you did a wonderful work trying semi-realistic style! I love the way you colored it with a warm color palette to portrait a cold scene. Also the design and the pose, it looks so calming and natural, like if she were dreaming.
And the hair, omg that hair!!! how did you do that hair?! Curly haisrs are the most difficult ones to draw/color and still it looks so epic.
I am so in love with this picture. I can't wait to see more of your upcoming pictures!

Hi, thank you very much for your interest, but my art cannot be used for anything else than being on my gallery unless I authorize it, sorry. Also I don't find ethically correct to use another artist's illustration to create a new one. It's not the way I like and the way I think things must be done. Kind regards.
