Description
This is older... did it in high school... I was playing around and decided to use ink to darken the shaded areas for contrast... I might have over done it... but Mr. Fallon liked it, so ..
The basic concept is that the road of life is dark, and rent with unseen perils, but Knowledge (the woman with the lighted staff) can lead you along the path so that you do not stray into the jaws of danger...

Interesting, the ink on the drawing like that. I like the figure on his hands and knees - he looks like he's pleading.
Speaking of hands, his little finger looks quite off, almost enough to make it look like a thumb. The hand on the staff isn't placed correctly either. I know this is an old drawing, but though I'd put in my two cents anyways.

Use a reference and try to draw what you see instead of what you want to see. It gets easier, and you will get them right.
