Heyyy, I'm still alive. I've had this lined for so long just had to force myself to color it so I could submit it. Sorry it's a little rushed (and sparse) on the story, but I'm having to move my story along a little bit more than I expected with an encounter I recieved last time. So I'm not worried about word-count or anything right now. Just getting what feathers/items I can acquire, since my next two pieces are going to be quite dramatic. xD
tldr; Calus rests up after being injured. Bash helps taryn get the dreads out of her mane. Taryn gets pregnant. Calus notices Taryn's been acting different.

After Calus's incident with the ice breaking underneath his fool hooves, he'd been resting more. Coupled with his already growing cold sickness, the ice breaking had caused some serious injuries to the colt's underside. He had a few cuts, not too deep, but deep enough to make it uncomfortable for him to move faster than a trot. Calus spent most of his time resting in the cool snow, to combat the heated feeling of infection on his belly.
While Calus nursed himself, Bash and Taryn had spent more time getting to know one another. Bash learned that she used to belong to quite the hodgepodge of a herd before. It had consisted of only seven of them, but she felt very happy when she was with them, always getting into mischief. However, after Denki, Jiro, and Mina were captured, the gang quickly fell apart. Rikiya and Monoma tried their best to keep Toga and her safe, but they were separated and she hasn't been able to find them since.
"I'm sorry to hear what you've been through." Bash commented, reaching over to nuzzle her neck.
A wistful smile formed on her face at the comment. While she did miss them terribly, she figured it would be best to try and move on.
"Well, if you'll have us, you can stay with us as long as you'd like." Bash offered, pulling back to look at her.
Taryn didn't speak. Truthfully, she didn't know what she wanted at the moment. All she knew was that she felt safer, right now, than she had been the past few months of wandering by herself. Something about this stallion made her feel at home, and she didn't want to lose that feeling again.
"Alright, Bash. I would like to stay." Taryn agreed.
Bash smiled and nipped at her mane playfully. She shook herself free of his nipping before dancing away slightly.
Calus glanced over at them, a frown on his face. He couldn't understand why this mare was choosing such a soft stallion. He didn't know anything about this place. Calus felt a bit of jealousy and resentment rise up in him.
Bash moved closer to Taryn and pulled at her mane.
"Let me help you with this." He said, gently working at the knots with his teeth.
Taryn remained still, glad to finally have some help with restoring her mane to what it used to be. Eventually, she dozed off as Bash worked. The relief she felt was bliss. She didn't have to worry about watching out for predators, finding food... She could rest in peace, for once.
Bash was pleased that Taryn was going to stay. He really admired the mare's tenacity. She was very easy to get along with, and he felt that she was drawn to him too.

It took him hours, but eventually he worked what he could out of her mane. It was a lot shorter than it had been, but he vowed to make sure it remained untangled so it could grow out again. Her tail would be another story. He didn't want to just move back there... he figured she'd be highly offended. So instead he nudged her awake.
"Taryn." Bash said, nervous undertones in his voice.
"Hm?" She hummed, barely lifting her lids to look over at him.
"I'm done with your mane... would you be okay with me working on your tail?" Bash asked, looking at her.
Taryn was awake now, nervousness filled her, but ultimately she nodded and tried to relax as the stallion moved behind her. It was mostly to no use, as she felt every tug on her tail with heightened senses. Yet Bash was ever the gentleman and didn't do anything forwards. She appreciated how gentle he was. But eventually, one thing led to another and while Calus was sleeping, the two moved off and went to a more private location to continue the grooming.

It had been a few weeks since the shared night, and Taryn felt something different about herself. She could tell that, internally, something felt off. But eventually, when her belly starting getting rounder, she knew for sure that their shared night would have more of a permanence than she'd originally thought. She couldn't wait to share the news with Bash, but was slightly scared at the thought of being a mother. She'd never done it before, but she knew that despite anything she'd lack that Bash would make up for it.
Calus had noticed something was off with Taryn, but didn't comment on it. He was still healing up, and knew he needed to be at one-hundred percent before he proceeded with what he wanted...
