Goth chick always puts the other down and expects her to drop everything and help her. When she doesn't, Goth chick makes her seem like the bad guy. (Did I interpret this right? I'm just basing my knowledge off of other comics.)

Yes, Goth Chick is not a nice person. Her mistake in this comic is that if you're drowning in your feelings it's probably best not to demand support from those also drowning in their feelings too. If they can't help you, maybe it's because they have to take care of themselves first.

Trying to take care of yourself - learning to do so after years of neglect - and being called egoistic for it ... yeah, great feeling, very helpful for therapy success -.- not.

There's the rub. Needing to take care of yourself and having the right to...
versus wanting to be 'normal' and 'nice' and feeling like people will abandon you if you don't give them whatever they ask.

It's not about always giving them what they ask..
its being there when they need you..
and giving them even half of what they give you in return.
I started attempting suicide on a weekly basis and even when my friend started crying. I never hesitated to comfort him. Even if I couldn't support myself..
well that's how I see it...
friendship is still a relationship ..
you gotta atleast match the support they give you..
Sorry if what I said sounds stupid.
You can ignore it...

Not stupid. Not by a long shot. I try to be the same way with my friends. Honestly, when I have the strength, it feels good to pour it outward. To feel like the helper. You're 100% correct. Friendships are relationships, and they're 2 way streets.
